Women in Ag calendar, free audio book part of 99th MFU convention

News from Prairie Star: Every year Montana Farmers Union tries to have a great slate of education for its annual convention. With the speakers selected for this year’s 99th annual MFU convention, it appears that they have succeeded again, according to Sandy Courtnage, MFU communications director. The convention is set for Oct. 24-25 in Great Falls at the Heritage Inn. According to Courtnage, a committee of MFU members spend a great deal of time selecting the various speakers for each annual convention. This year one of the speakers will be M. B&T Launches Free Downloadable Audiobook Platform

News from Library Journal: Baker & Taylor (B&T) December 11 announced the launch of Acoustiks, a mobile platform “that allows consumers to buy and download digital audiobooks on their Apple and Android devices” using a free app powered by Findaway World, LLC. While Acoustiks, which currently provides consumers access to nearly 40,000 titles from a variety of publishers, is available at select retailers, B&T will be expanding the service into libraries in 2013 as part of the Axis 360 digital media platform. “We’re aiming for late January,” B&T’s Kimberly Kuo told LJ.  Acoustik is available for download at no charge on iPhones and iPads through Apple’s App Store and on Android devices through Google Play. “The release of Acoustik is an important milestone in giving consumers, retailers and publishers more choices in … Read entire article »
